EXPOCASE
The platform for exhibition design, interactive knowledge transfer and scenography at EXPONATEC COLOGNE
Attraction. Communication. Intervention.
Does this situation sound familiar? It’s the special date when museums are open until late at night. Visitors are standing in long lines and throngs of people are crowding around the showcases. But the next day it’s all over. The building is empty. There’s hardly a soul to be seen for weeks at a time.
EXPOCASE focuses on questions concerning the attractiveness of exhibits. How do museums stay interesting? What makes visitors come to see a permanent collection over and over again? Can a museum generate interest by means of large and small interactive features?
On two afternoons EXPOCASE will bring together experts from various disciplines and provide them with an opportunity to share their thoughts about interactive features, discuss areas of potential and engage in brainstorming about new ideas.
EXPOCASE invites students from three colleges to develop ideas for temporary formats for a museum or public space that will attract visitors.
